Research Project

Over the easter break I was considering exactly what field of work i was looking to enter within the adui visual industry. Last term i wrote an essay stating my desired position, which was a director. Shortly after writting this essay i installed adobe premier on my computer and began editing. After researching into directing, i began to feel unsure whether this was something i wanted to persue. After i have begun editing i now feel as though this is an area of the industry i am more suited to as i am able to use my creative side. After researching into this, I have become increasingly interested in documentary editing, and mentioned this to Simon in my review last week. Since this meeting i have began developing my idea for my research project.
I want to look into truth and how it is used to send of different messages in documentaries, and how it can be bent to tell a completely different story. We looked over a film made by Leni Riefenstahl called triumph of the will. Which is a propaganda tape made for adolf hitler.
One idea i have is to gather new footage from September the 11th, and edit it so i can tell the story as I belive it to be.
I have strong beliefs that the American Government were partly behind the attacks and responsible for the deaths of thousands of people.

several documentaries have been made giving "proof" that the American government were behind the attacks. Such as loose change 1st and 2nd edition, which has been constantly amended due to new information that points the finger at the american government.
What i want to do, is to gather enough footage from news reports from september the 11th and days after, and compile a documentary that tells the story as how i percieve it to of happend. I want to do this to highlight how the media can tell a completely different story to what has happend, not just by not lying. but just simply by editing.
