John Conroy

I have recently watched the Television series Ross Kemp in Afghanistan. I was immediatly taken back by the series, and decided to do some research on the Programme Director. The director is called John Conroy, who was assistant cameraman in Sweeny Todd and the Da Vinci code.
I was particularly impressed with the camera work in the series, considering the surroundings they were in and the constant threat of attack from the Taliban.
The whole series really gave me a different opinion on the British Forces in Afghanistan, and i felt as though this programme really told the story of the British Soldiers, and the difficulty they go through everyday for months on end.
I certainly feel as though this show did what it was meant to do by opening the nations eyes to what these soilders are having to go through, and give them the respect they deserve.

Final Idea

I have now finalised my ideas for my identities project. I am going to use a turntable to represent myself, as I sometimes compare my life to a soundtrack.
The centre image in the middle of the vinyl will be the logo I have created, which I have not yet finalised.
By clicking on different parts of the turntable, you will be taken to different objects which represent myself.
The more important parts of the deck that you click on, the more that object relates and represents myself. For example, the needle or the start/stop button.
Here are some images of objects I will use in my design:

Here is an image of a speaker, which will be activated when the user clicks on a certain part of the turntable. I have used the speaker as I feel it represents my personality in the way that I am a likeable person who has always had a large group of friends and family. I used a speaker to represent this as the most popular thing I could think of was music

This is similar to how I would like my turntable to look.

I am hoping to create a mountain to represent Switzerland, which is where i spent the most important years of my life while growing up. I also feel as though the Swiss Alps will represent the calmer and peaceful side to my personality.

For my logo I am going to use a similar symbol to the Aquarius sign. Which is obviously my star sign, and have always been told I am a "stereotypical aquarius". Which is sensative, creative and imaganitive.

DJ Fresh - Nervous

I recently saw the video for the song Nervous by DJ fresh. It was released a couple of years ago on the Breakbeat Kaos record label with a music video, which is unusual for most Drum n Bass releases.
I took particular interest in the video as it relates to what pathway i am looking at taking next year. In our first semester we were asked to produce a pixilation film, and a one shot film. I based my pixilation film around a music video, which is something I would like carry on producing throughout University, with the possibility of seeking employment in this field in the future.

I Am Legend

I recently went and saw the new Hollywood blockbuster I Am Legend, starring Will Smith. As I hadn't even seen any previews for it before I went, I had no idea what to expect.
It is similar to the recent UK Blockbuster 28 Days Later, where the population of the world is killed off by a deadly virus. Although this time, the setting is in downtown Manhatten and the only surviving human is Will Smith, or at least so he thinks....
The film is alot more animated than 28 Days later, and there are certain scenes when this really stands out, and to some extent lets the film down. On comparing I Am Legend to 28 days later, you realy could notice the difference between UK produced films and Hollywood productions, in my personal opinion 28 Days Later definatly wins this one.
